Giethoorn Netherlands

Giethoorn
Giethoorn Village juga popular dengan panggilan Venice of the Netherlands.

                                                         What a wonderful day!
Yesterday I spent one whole day in Giethoorn Village, where it is situated at the area of Overijssel. Oh additional information for you all that this village has more than 180 bridges!! Wow I am so amazed with the beauty of Giethoorn’s village where those small houses has been built up on the top of a small land and they are all very near to each other. Giethoorn’s village is also very popular with the name Venice of the Netherlands. What’s so unique and interesting in Giethoorn is that, every house will be decorated with this beautiful green, huge trees, flowers and all been done by the owner of the house. I tell you this, it is absolutely different that Venice in Italy! Here you do not need to rent a Gondoler with the price of hundreds of Euros! But its enough to just rent the boat with the price €20.00 – 25.00 (very depending on the company). And oh well since its cheap lol so you need to paddle the boat by yourself til you exhausted. I rent the boat and spent my time about 1 hour to go around and enjoy the scenery of the village. Here you can also rent a bike! But of course with my experience, I suggest you to do the boat touring then only take bicycle and cycling around. Well this is for the lazy people, please jot this down yeah – you can even follow the boat trip with the price only €6.60. That boat can fit 20 passengers in one time. The duration take place about 20-25 minutes.
To get here, I simply took this train from Amsterdam Centraal. – Information to get to Giethoorn by train, you can ask the staff there.

From Amsterdam to Steenwijk,
you need to change train whether in Lelystad Centrum or Amersfoort, then straight to Steenwijk. Oh well the return ticket price is €43.80.

From Steenwijk train station,
you can take the Bus to Giethoorn’s Village (bus will be waiting for you there), then stop at Hylkemaweg’s sation. Ticket bus price €9.00.
The bus driver will inform you guys if you guys reach the Hylkemaweg’s station or here’s the hint for you and please do take note “you will see a river on the left side…by the time you almost reach the place”.

To go back to the Steenwijk’s station, the bus will only pass through once every hour. As soon after you depart from the Hylkemaweg’s train station, go take a look at the bus schedule on the opposite road. You better check the schedule fast, because if you stay so long in Giethoorn, the bus might leave you behind!
